Dr. Jana K. Layton

Owner and Veterinarian

Riverbrook Animal Hospital was started in 1998 by its former owner, Dr. Robin Johnson. Dr. Layton purchased the practice from Dr. Johnson in March 2009 after working at the practice since June 2007. Dr. Layton considers it a true gift to have the opportunity to carry on the mission of Riverbrook Animal Hospital. We strive to provide exceptional care, customer service, and to make a positive impact on all the lives the hospital comes in contact with. A commitment to continued education and training for the entire staff so they may provide the best medicine possible is a vision passed on by Dr. Johnson and embraced by Dr. Layton.
 
Dr. Layton was born in Tulsa and raised in Claremore, Oklahoma.. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological science at the University of Tulsa in 1994. After spending a summer working on her dad’s farm, she decided to merge her love of animals and devotion to science into a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Layton received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in May of 2007.
 
Her pet family consists of two pitbulls named Winnie and Layla, and one cat named Sambino. Aside from her love of animals, Dr. Layton spends time reading, doing pilates, cooking, and traveling to see SuperCross races and live music.

Dr. Katie L. Greenwell

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Greenwell is a Tulsa native. She went to Oklahoma State University for undergraduate studies, and also got her DVM from there in 2022. She has been at Riverbrook since June of 2022. She has special interest in surgery, ophthalmology, and quality patient care. In her free time, she enjoys pampering her four cats and one cat-sized dog. She also spends time hiking, running, and reading fiction.

Dr. Carrie R.K. Duvall

Associate Veterinarian

Born in Tulsa, Dr. Carrie R.K. Duvall developed a passion for animals early in life. After graduating Booker T. Washington highschool, Dr. Duvall went to attend undergraduate at Oklahoma State University and earned her DVM from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2025. She has been with Riverbrook Animal Hospital since earning her DVM.
 
Outside of work, Dr. Duvall enjoys serving as a softball coach at Carver Middle School, spending time with her husband, walking her two dogs, gardening, and traveling.

Yvonne

Veterinary Technician

Yvonne has over 2 years of experience in the veterinary field, starting as a receptionist before becoming a skilled vet tech. Her background in client communication and hands-on animal care allows her to provide compassionate, well-rounded support to both pets and their owners. Yvonne has a special love for Schnauzers and is dedicated to helping every animal feel safe and comfortable.

Veterinary Technician

Amber began her career at Riverbrook Animal Hospital in 2020 as a receptionist. Over time, her dedication and compassion for animals inspired her to transition into hands-on patient care as a veterinary technician. Today, she brings her passion for animal health and wellness into every aspect of her work, ensuring both pets and their families receive exceptional care.

Hilary

Veterinary Technician

Hilary began her career at Riverbrook Animal Hospital in 2016 as a receptionist and has since transitioned into her current role as a veterinary technician. With several years of experience, she has developed a strong skill set in animal care while maintaining her passion for customer service. Hilary enjoys the collaborative team atmosphere at Riverbrook and thrives on the positive relationships she has built with both pet owners and their beloved animals. Her commitment to providing high-quality care, paired with her compassionate nature, makes her an invaluable asset to the team. Hilary is dedicated to ensuring every pet receives the best care possible, and she finds great joy in being part of the journey that helps pets live healthier, happier lives. 

Jordan

Veterinary Technician

Jordan started working in veterinary medicine in 2017. He joined Riverbrook Animal Hospital in 2022 as a Veterinary Technician. He brings a strong passion for animal care and is committed to ongoing education to ensure the highest quality of patient treatment. Outside of work, Jordan is a skilled equestrian and accomplished jousting knight, and enjoys refining his skills in leather working.

Vanessa

Veterinary Receptionist

Vanessa has been in veterinary medicine for almost six years and absolutely loves it. She is a proud dog mom to two frenchies, Bella Marie and Millie Mae. She also has a sweet pit mix named Bubby. When she’s not caring for animals, you can find her spending time with family, shopping, or checking out new restaurants.

Eric

Kennel Technician

Eric is a dedicated kennel technician at Riverbrook Animal Hospital, where he plays an integral role in both the care and medical treatment of animals. With a lifelong passion for working with animals, Eric has gained experience in various roles, from caring for small pets to assisting with large animal treatments. His expertise extends beyond the clinic, as he is also an accomplished equestrian and jousting knight.  When he’s not working with animals or riding horses, Eric satisfies his wanderlust, traveling to new places and embracing diverse cultures. His deep connection to animals and the world around him shapes his compassionate and detailed approach to every task.

Sam

Veterinary Assistant

Sam is a dedicated veterinary assistant at Riverbrook Animal Hospital, where she has found a true sense of community and connection with both the team and the pets she cares for. Having loved animals since she was young, Sam has always dreamed of working in veterinary medicine. Her passion for animal care shines through in every task she takes on. Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with her King Charles Spaniel, Taz, and indulges in her hobbies, which include listening to music, reading, and watching F1.

Cheryl

Veterinary Receptionist

Cheryl has served as a receptionist at Riverbrook Animal Hospital since March 2023. With a lifelong passion for animals, she takes pride in supporting their care and well-being as part of the veterinary team. Outside of work, Cheryl enjoys spending quality time with her family, pets, and friends, as well as reading.
